Journey to the Stable
took place at Sandown Methodist Church from
Friday 4th December – until Monday 7th December 2015
where visitors found something to reflect on, something to do, and something to take away from their journey – and light refreshments were served to help them on their way.
Over the four days we welcomed a good number of people who wanted to share in the ‘Journey to the Stable’, as well as those who needed to step over our threshold to find peace, a listening ear, or a moment of refreshment in this busy and hectic time of year.
We enjoyed pleasant company over cups of tea and coffee with those we already knew. We welcomed those who came in as ‘strangers’, shared some of their experiences and life-story, and left as friends. And, at times, some of us even indulged in some deep and enlightening conversations.
There was a chance to watch a short simple version of the Nativity on the screen, and ‘Christmas cards’ to colour for the younger ones.
Altogether a very worthwhile few days.
